“Humura” is a Kinyarwanda word meaning comfort, relief, and rest. Humura Mission Agency serves in four countries located in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. Our goal is to prepare the hard ground and pave the way for an awakening of souls in Africa.  

A Pew Research Report predicts that by 2060 the Sub-Saharan region of Africa will be the epicenter of Christianity.  Humura Mission Agency exists to prepare for this upcoming awakening. 

We are a missionary agency based in Rwanda, Africa, and operate in four countries: Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, and Mozambique. 

Our goal is to equip the body of Christ to become holistic disciple-makers, beginning in their own “Jerusalem,” according to Luke in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We aim to become a catalyst that transforms ordinary people into extraordinary disciple-makers with the help of the Holy Spirit.  We envision living out the great commission and the great commandment through equipping laypersons who can transform existing churches and new believers into fishers of men. 

We have trained over 20 indigenous missionaries who are intentionally preaching the gospel in their home communities and local languages. This strategy has proven to be most effective because each missionary speaks the local language and understands the cultural dynamics.  Further, it is far more economical to support an indigenous missionary.  Our missionaries live within the communities that they are ministering to and live “a simpler lifestyle” just as everyone else within the community does. Thus, ministry becomes both efficient and productive.

We rejoice in the opportunities we have had to lead others to Christ over the years. Although salvation is the work of God and only He knows those that are genuinely saved, we have seen the impact of Humura Mission Agency in Africa. We have witnessed the fruit from those whom we have discipled and preached to, especially those that have confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives. 

We strongly believe in prayer. Our ministry has prayer warriors who pray for the organization. Martin Luther King Jr said, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.”
